As an acearo girl, I look up to manga and (now) Crystal Rei as something of a role model. I don’t think people understand how bad it is when they seem to imply that there’s something ‘tragic” about her character because she doesn’t want a man or romance in her life (or that she needs a man in her life to “correct” her views of men). Neither of those things are required to be happy, but I grew up thinking that there was something wrong with me because everyone around me insisted that men and romance were the most important things in a girl’s life.
